thankful for it all

(totally funny and real- these kids wait at the top of the stairs for me)

Thanksgiving gives us pause to think about what we are thankful for. I have a long list that I like to keep close to my heart, but it's good from time to time to get it down. To say it out loud. To let it be known.
I have much to be thankful for. The house we call our home, the food we eat that nourishes our bodies, this beautiful land (the Yukon) that we get to explore.
I am thankful for my family. That I am blessed with two beautiful children. I am thankful that I get to spend my days with them being their mama, their teacher, their play mate, their soft place to land. What a gift.
I am thankful for my husband. A hard working, patient and giving man. A man that shows me love every single day and who cares about if I am happy. How did I find such a guy?
I am thankful for my family far away. I miss them dearly and wish I could be there more often (especially at the holidays). I am thankful for the phone calls we have, the emails and pictures that are sent back and forth. I am thankful for the history that we all have together, the stories that we share, the friendships that we have.
I am thankful for a career that I love. One where I get to be creative, every singe day. Where I provide a service that makes people happy, where I capture time for people and help them to preserve it. I am blessed to be able to do what I do. Blessed that I have a husband, family and friends who support me. Wow.
I am thankful for constant learning That I can learn from my life lessons. That I can improve on who I am. Thankful for second chances.
I am thankful for friendships. New ones and old ones. People in my life who care and who teach me to be a better person.
I am thankful for time. The time I have with my family. The knowledge that time is precious, and that we should fill our days with meaningful and positive actions.
I'm thankful for simple moments .....like... cuddling on the couch with Noah, with a stack of library books beside us, laughing and sharing stories together....or.... putting soft cozy jammies on Katia after her bath, holding her in my arms and rocking her to sleep .... taking a walk on a trail with a good friend, talking about life, spending time together.... I'm also thankful for Noah's dark gorgeous curly hair and Katia's sweet little baby toes :O)
Life is good and I am blessed indeed. There is so much to be thankful for.
Happy Thanksgiving.
