and life goes on...

I'm so glad to say that since my last post, things have started to look up around here. Last week it was cold and snowy and well down right depressing, but in true Yukon fashion, Mother Nature has done a 360 and we now having sunny days that reach above 20. And for anyone that knows just how hard the winters are here, you can imagine how the folks here are reacting to this gorgeous weather. Yup, long play dates at the park, picnics and jam sessions at the local band stand, sandals, people biking everywhere, sun glasses and hats on everyone. It's gorgeous.
Life has been good around here. We've been busy with dinner parties and friends coming over for visits and spending lots of time outside. Our trips to the park last a little longer now, with less complaints of being cold. There have been visits with friends on my back porch where we sip strawberry lemonade while sitting in the sun. And there has been a lot baking going on, thanks to all the amazing recipes I have across on pinterest . This chocolate truffle tart was amazingly easy to make and delicious to eat. And these cookies were exactly as they promised, chewy and classically good!
These days are what dreams are made of, I tell you. Fun with friends, sun kissed cheeks and a feeling of being care free. Our short but sweet summer is right around the corner, I can just feel it! Now it's up to us to make the most of it.
