We are into our first week here in Whitehorse and I have so much on my mind. I'm happy to be here and am happy to be settling in, but it still feels strange to be here. We are so far from home and I expect that it will take a while for us to feel completely comfortable and at home here in Whitehorse.
Yesterday I went for a walk with Noah downtown and snapped a few pictures of the stores on Main Street and the children's park where we stopped for lunch. I think that there is a misconception that Whitehorse is a very remote and isolated town. Not so....we have some great coffee shops and bookstores. Even a sushi and bubble tea house! And for those that can't live without their grandes and ventis, we even have a Starbucks. Actually make that two Starbucks!
I plan on doing a few more tour posts of Whitehorse, just for people (especially my family and friends back home) who are interested in what Whitehorse is like.
Also thank you for all the sketch book requests, wow I had no idea so many people would be interested in this idea. I plan on taking about 5 requests for now and will work on them over the next few days/weeks. There were so many good suggestions, thank you for giving me some great ideas!
I hope everyone is doing well for this fine beginning to August. Is it just me or does autumn feel like it is around the corner? Well actually, it probably is up here!
till later dear friends

Looks like you have yummy goodies in your new town!! Sending you a sweet hug and enjoy your weekend! xo
ReplyDeleteGreat to see pics of Whitehorse. It's hard to think that it gets cold there when you see folk in shorts. Look forward to seeing more of the town and your neighbourhood. Hope you start to feel more settled in coming weeks and that Winslow is getting used to his new work setting.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea what Whitehorse would look like. Turns out it's completely adorable! Can't wait to see more ^_^
ReplyDeleteWow, I saw the photo of Mac's Fireweed Books and thought, WHOA wait a minute what the heck? So weird, I have been in whitehorse many times, my god-daughter and most of my very best friends live in Dawson!
ReplyDeleteAnd those Yukon clouds, I recognize them!
What fun to know this about you.
