a very happy birthday

My sweet sweet girl. Oh where do I begin? There is so much to say about who you are and what we love about you. Your personality and energy are endless, you make us laugh and shake our heads everyday. 

Today we had your birthday party at the school here in Beaver Creek. It was just how I imagined it would be, you surrounded by your little family and all our new Northern friends. 

We decided to give you a Hungry Caterpillar birthday, as it is one of your very favourite books. We decorated with fun Eric Carle decorations and did a head band craft with your little friends. We played parachute games and sang songs and of course, we played pass the parcel. A lunch was served for all of our friends, we had over 24 people there! Sandwiches, fruits and veggies, meatballs and spring rolls, chips, cupcakes and ice cream! All for you my dear, because it was your special day :) 

A bit about where you are at these days... 

Recently I discovered that you have a keen interest in arts and crafts. Every day you ask to pull out your sketch book and crayons. I often find you at the kitchen counter colouring, glueing or stamping. This obviously makes me happy and excited, not just because I love to be creative but because I love watching you make things and go into your own creative little world. 

I love how you keep up with your big brother or rather, you make him keep up with you! I often find you chasing him and playing "Batman", you are always "Robin". I love that you love super heroes, Thomas the train and legos. You love to play with him, but also love to fight with him. 

We often are amazed by all the words you have, and how you are able to express yourself. You are so advanced with your words and you are able to tell us so much, which often makes us laugh. You know what you like and what you don't like, you are very certain about things, so I am glad that you able to express yourself. It has saved us from major meltdowns (yes, you still have melt downs, but it helps when you can "use your words"). 

Some cute things that you say, 

- " Press the button" when you want me to do up a button on your shirt ( you know we live in a technological world when!)

- "I see the moon!" every time you see the moon, even if it's not there, you still seem to see it- "Kermismas"for Christmas

-"Circle" for squirrel 

- "Pallow" for Hungry Caterpillar
