We are back home in Whitehorse after a lovely but long trip "home" to Ottawa. Our trips home are always fun filled and enjoyable but I also find them tiring and difficult. It's hard to be away from home for such a long time, especially when there are little ones involved. While I love seeing and spending time with our family and friends, I also crave my daily routines and the comfort of my own home and kitchen. It makes standing at my kitchen counter with a cup of coffee in hand while listening to the CBC that much more special. There really is nothing quite like "home sweet home".
Our trip home included many wonderful things and we really did pack as much as we could into our five weeks there. I had the chance to meet up with many of my good friends while back in Ottawa and got to do some really fun things, and before I forget all the fun things that I got to so, I'm just going to make a little happy list of all the amazing things that I packed into our 5 week trip back home.
Here it goes...
...more family time than I can count (more would've been nice too) ... a wonderful trip to Montreal to see Eugenia, Irvine, Theo and Elliot, hanging with my niece and nephew... our new born baby niece Ariyana ... so many yummy treats to eat: cupcakes, Dairy Queen, bubble tea, Thai food, Bridgehead coffee, maple sugar treats from the market, David's Tea ... sunny warm plus 20 weather ... the Tulip Festival (100s of different coloured tulips given to Canada from Holland) ... shopping for me, the house, the kids ... bbqs ... beers on the back porch ... food food food ... coffee dates with friends ... dinners at my sister's place ......... oh I'll miss it.
This weekend is already shaping up to be a busy one. I have two photo sessions booked, a friend's birthday to celebrate, church, Mother's Day and we are still dealing with jetlagged/mid night sun unadapted little ones! We're working on getting our sleep sorted out at the moment.
