tea in the afternoon

Greetings from Ottawa! It's Sunday afternoon and I am still recuperating from the amazing party/day that was yesterday. As you all know by now, yesterday was my bestfriend's wedding and I was able to take her pictures! The pictures are a coming, but for now, I will leave you with the day before pictures.
On Friday, the day before Amy and Anthony's wedding, I was able to take Amy out for a special afternoon of tea at the Chateau Laurier. Tea at the Chateau is a lovely affair, including scones with cream and preserves, fancy sandwiches, a cheese board and sweets. We had The Canadian High Tea, so it included local and national tastes, such as local cheeses and maple desserts, yum!
I let our server know that Amy was a bride to be, so he brought out a special dessert of handmade truffles for her with the word congratulations written in chocolate on the plate. It was a nice and relaxing way to spend the day before the wedding together and I am so glad that we got to do that.
Tonight I will begin the process of going through and editing the wedding photos, but now I am off to take a nap with my little guy. Hope you all had a lovely weekend.
Lots of love!

  1. I love going for afternoon tea. It is one of my most favourite things! Your tea looks much like the one I've been for at The Fairmont Empress in Victoria- so lovely and elegant!

What a great way to spend the day before your wedding- taking tea with your best friend! Bet she was just so happy!

Can't wait to see some of those wedding photos. Continue to enjoy your time in Ottawa!
