hello monday hello august hello whitehorse

pictures taken in Stanley Park, Vancouver on our last day

Happy monday dearest friends and thank you so much for all the lovely comments that have been left for us, wishing us a safe trip up North....I'm very grateful for all the support.
So, after months and months of waiting, I can finally say...we are here! We are here in Whitehorse, our new home!
We made it safe and sound just yesterday and now the real work begins. Moving our stuff in (which is actually done for us), unpacking (also done for us), setting up our new home (my domain), grocery shopping, washing 2 weeks worth of dirty clothes, getting new driver's licenses, getting a new doctor....and on it goes.
Oh friends, life has been a bit of a roller coaster these past few weeks and right now all I want to do is slow down and settle in.
Adventure is great and I am so thankful that we had a few days all to ourselves to do some exploring and camping...but after 2 weeks of sleeping in beds that aren't ours and rummaging through suitcases to look for something, I think we are ready to hang our hats and settle into our new home.
I'm not quite sure how many times I've moved in my life, at least 8 times I'd say...but there's something that I like about moving into a new home. The fresh start, I guess. And so this being a Monday and the beginning of August, I'd just like to say hello to the newness of it all. I am here on out going to embrace this fresh start and look at it as a brand new beginning for us.
A new daily schedule is in the works, something that I am creating to help me organize my day better. Meal plans are going to be made, to help us budget and not feel overwhelmed at meal time. I will embrace this new beginning and get myself and my family back into the groove of our daily life.
Happy Monday dear friends....

  1. I'm glad to see you made it safely and see how beautiful your travels were and how beautiful Whitehorse is. I feel like we're doing this little (big) move thing together. We too just arrived and I'm waiting for our stuff to come but first we're renovating as quickly as we can before our movers come. It's crazy but super fun. I too am excited to start new routines to make my life more organized. Have I told you about The Big Cook cookbook yet? It helps you make tons (like 20 or more depending on how many you make) of freezer meals so that you can always have easy dinner time options? It's super fun (you do it with friends) and way easy way to keep your clean up minimal daily and yummy healthy food on the table. Anyway...enjoy organizing your new home. Can't wait to see more. :)

*that was like my longest comment ever!

  7. Gorgeous, gorgeous photos. :) Welcome to the newness. Newness is always a mix of bitter and sweet-missing the old but enjoying the excitement of the new. Hopefully you find more sweet than you do bitter :)
