lovely gifts and an update.

Holla from Ottawa mes amis! I spent over 8 hrs driving yesterday from Hamilton to Ottawa with my mom and Noah in the backseat. All I can say is thank goodness my mom was there to keep Noah entertained....thank goodness! And apparently we drove through an earthquake...I had no idea!
So a few updates. I promised that I would show you what I made for Winslow's for father's day gift. I realize it is late, but that just seems to be how I am rolling these days. So for Winslow's gift, I made him a hard cover picture book using the iphoto application on my computer. It was really easy, just drag and click, and it was delivered right to our doorstep. I used all of my favourite photos that I have taken over the past year and titled it " First Year of Fatherhood".
So as you can see, this is how it turned out and he was very happy to receive it. Oh and as a separate gift, he chose out a new watch that he will need for when he is on the job up North.
On a totally different note, it was mentioned to me yesterday that I never told you what I received for Mother's Day. I know I had mentioned that I really wanted something from Lisa Leonard....and YES I got it! I didn't mention it at the time because it came almost a month after Mother's Day (they take a long time to ship to Canada). So here it is! And it is absolutely gorgeous. I love it and wear it everyday!
So Noah and I are now here in Ottawa until July 4th. Winslow joins us on the 30th, just in time for Canada Day!!! I can't wait to take Noah downtown for Canada Day and also can't wait to dress him up in red and white. Anyone who knows me, knows that I just go crazy for Canada Day...yes I do!
We have a lot of visiting to do with family and friends and I am really looking forward to doing a few of my favourite Ottawa-summer things like go to Meech Lake and eat gelato in the market!
I hope this update finds everyone enjoying the start to summer (or winter for my Australian and New Zealand friends). I'd love to see some of those summer to-do lists that people mentioned they'd try to do. Remember, fun things only!

  8. The book of photos is a treasure.
For the past three years my daughter has given the grandparents photo books for Christmas with pics of the girls from January to December. It's a beautiful record of their lives and the happy times we all share.
Beautiful necklace. I'd love one displaying the names of my three grandchildren.
Thanks for your good wishes for winter. It's really not too bad here and we've just had some more wonderful rain :)
Have a happy time in Ottawa and hope you and all of your Canadian Blogger friends have a wonderful Canada Day!
