a little bit crazy, a little bit of adventure and a little bit of excitement

The other day my next door neighbour and I were catching up with each other on what's new in our lives. I started to tell her about our move to Whitehorse this summer and we talked about how quickly my house sold. I mentioned that we had just got back from Ottawa and Montreal and that this Sunday we are flying to Whitehorse to look for housing. She said something along the lines of how crazy fast it was all happening and I decided to tell her the story about the summer that Winslow and I got married. To make a long story short, you can read about it here, but to re cap it quickly it goes something like this
Winslow was in police training for 6 months leading up to our wedding. The training academy was half way across the country, meaninghe wasn't around to help plan the wedding. He graduated on a Monday, I was there to watch my sweetie become a police officer. We flew home to Ottawa the next day, Tuesday. We married on the Saturday of that week. Drove to Hamilton the day after the wedding. Stayed in a crappy mote near his detachment and then he started his brand new job on the Monday....crazy right?
I guess that's just how it goes when you are a police family. When Winslow joined the force they asked him, are you willing to move anywhere in Canada? And now we are moving, far, very far away. Sacrifices and adventure. It's a hard one to place my finger on.
You see, I am excited about what lies ahead but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared. This is an adventure, one that will keep us on our toes, but at the same time I am a bit weary of losing the stability that we have going on here. As you can probably guess, I am feeling a little bit crazy, a little bit sad, a little bit excited, a little bit nervous, basically a whole ball of emotions. Will you please keep us in you thoughts ?
So for the next week I will be in Whitehorse Yukon where we will be looking for housing. I plan on including a few posts while we are away, but mostly it will take the form of photo posts with very little words. I hear that there is plenty of beautiful scenery to capture up there. Here's hoping for new inspiration!
I hope that wherever you are right now and how ever you are spending your days that you are enjoying yourself. I'll be back soon and look forward to hearing from you and catching up with your on your blogs.

I sometimes wonder why God plans such crazy paths for us to lead... but as His child I know that we are in His loving caring hands.

  5. You know, I don't think most of us realise the sacrifices of a police family other than the risk. I never thought about the moving. Thankd God people like your husband become officers and people like you support them. I am looking forward to hearing of your adventures in Whitehorse! It this RCMP or do all police get moved around?
