you say goodbye, I say hello

Today we hit the open road (we hope) to head back to Hamilton. It's been a good 5 weeks since I've been home and I'm pretty excited to get back to our normal life, our house, our routine.
My time in Ottawa has been an interesting one. It was hard being away from Winslow and in essence being a single parent. Of course I had help along the way, but no one to keep me company in the middle of the night when Noah would decide that it was time for a party. On the other hand it was really nice to be able to spend so much time with my family (both Winslow's and mine). This was the first time that any of our families had a good chunk of time to really bond with Noah and nothing can replace the value of quality time spent together. The face of my niece and nephew when they play with Noah is so precious to me, it is something that I want to engrave in my memory for ever. All in all, I come away from this trip with a feeling of surprise. I am surprised in myself for making it through this time in one piece.
In a previous post I mentioned that I was worried that things may have changed, that things may be different. And you know, they have changed, but in a good way. I have found this new sense of confidence in being a mama. I now know that I can do the difficult task of parenting on my own if I have to and with Winslow's field of work it's safe to say that I will be in this position again and again.
So today we say farewell to our Ottawa life and hello to our Hamilton life. It's so strange living between two cities. Both are so important to us in different ways. I'm looking forward to getting backing into my daily routine which includes blogging lots about our little family.
I also wanted to say a little hello to some new blog friends who have come over and joined me here. Hello! Thank you for stopping in. I hope to get to know you better.
Be back soon friends!
