This year we sat down to a turkey dinner with new and old Northern family friends. We had some special guests come all the way from Whitehorse to spend the weekend with us, and we also had some of our new friends over for dinner on Saturday night.
Good food, a big turkey dinner, many glasses of wine, candle light, stories and tales, and a late late night. It was one of those soul fulfilling nights.
The next morning was just as nice. Everyone staying in their jammies, pots upon pots of coffee to make up for the glasses of wine and late night, a big pancake breakfast with bacon and sausages, and then a walk around the community to show our friends just what Beaver Creek is all about. It was nice to be able to show off our little town.
For the sound of laughter and children running through the house, the feeling of having our house busy and filled to the brim with friends, the smell of turkey cooking all day, the taste of pumpkin cheesecake, for staying up late talking, for games of ping pong, for friends gathered around our big table... I am so thankful for all of this.
Happy Thanksgiving friends. I hope your weekend is full of love and delicious food.
