thank you

I wanted to give the custodians who clean my classroom ever day a little thank you gift for doing such a wonderful job. These hardworking folks clean up after the students day in day out, with hardly a thank you from anyone. I tip my hat to them, they keep our schools looking clean and inviting and so I wanted to give them a small token to show my appreciation.
So I made the easiest gift ever to give- home made almond bark.
This is by far the easiest treat to make and looks really pretty when wrapped up in cellophane bags with little tags.
I bought all the ingredients at Bulk Barn (such a fun place) and for $15 bucks I got enough supplies to make at least 6 baggies full!

Ingredients:

- Merckens melting wafers (milk, dark and white)
- salted roasted almonds (salted tastes good with the chocolate)

STEP 1:

On a double boiler or pot of water lightly boiling and a glass bowl resting on top, melt your melting wafers in 2 separate bowls (one for milk-dark chocolate and one for white chocolate)

While melting the wafers, roast your almonds on a baking sheet in the oven. Be careful not to burn.

STEP 2:

On a baking sheet lined with plastic wrap, pour your slightly cooled melted chocolate and use a spatula to smooth out the chocolate. Keep it fairly thin, it tastes better when slightly thin.

Drop your roasted almonds into the smoothed out chocolate. Drop lots and lots!

STEP 3

Swirl, drop, sprinkle the white chocolate on top for a contrasting effect. Alternately, you can make a white chocolate bark with a contrasting dark sprinkled on top. Let cool and wrap!
