In one of my favourite blogs clayandchocolate the author likes to post pictures of the lunches that she makes for her daughter. I think this is so sweet. She really puts in effort to make her daughter's meal something special, something meaningful. Also if you've ever read Bread and Jam for Frances you'd understand why taking a special lunch to school is just so special. I've always tried to make hubby's lunches healthy and delicious. This is my sure way of knowing that he will get his fruits and veggies. And now that I am taking my lunches to work I thought I'd share my lunch box adventures with all of you.....maybe you'll be inspired to try something new for lunch? Also if you have any ideas you'd like to share with me that would be great.
On the menu for tomorrow
- grain fed/antibiotic free chicken salad wrap (I cooked the chicken myself, none of this mysterious lunch meat stuff)
- cherry tomato and bocconcini salad (with lots of lemon zest, olive oil and s&p)
- a kashi granola bar
- yoghurt
- strawberries
- and for a nostalgic treat, ritz snackwiches....I know, not healthy but enhh!
I also think it's important to find a lunch bag or lunch box that you really enjoy taking to work with you. How sad is it to open a plastic bag to fish out your lunch from?
Happy eating everyone!
PS. Is it lame that I put love notes in my hubby's lunch box?
I wish wish wish I did this. I thought it was only done in fairy tales.
